Chandeliers, pendants, vanity and under-cabinet lighting installed and leveled.

★ 4.9 from 720 Google reviews CSLB #1048262 licensed, bonded & insured 24/7 emergency line

Lighting is the easiest way to transform a room, and the details are what make it look professional: a chandelier hung at the right height and perfectly level, pendants centered over an island, vanity lights that flatter instead of cast shadows, under-cabinet LEDs with no visible wires. ASL Electric installs indoor lighting and fixtures in Orange County homes, from a single fixture swap to a whole-home lighting refresh.

We install chandeliers, pendants, linear suspensions, flush and semi-flush mounts, sconces, vanity lights, under-cabinet and cove LED lighting, and more, including heavy and oversized fixtures on high and vaulted ceilings. We check that each box is rated for the fixture's weight, add support where needed, pair fixtures with compatible dimmers and smart controls, and leave every fixture level, secure and clean.

Indoor lighting we install

⚡Chandeliers

Crystal, wrought iron, modern and oversized chandeliers in dining rooms, entries and stairwells, with proper support, height and leveling, including two-story foyers and vaulted ceilings.

⚡Pendants and linear suspensions

Pendants over kitchen islands and dining tables, centered and hung at the right height, and linear fixtures leveled along their length.

⚡Under-cabinet and cove lighting

LED under-cabinet lighting for kitchens, plus cove, toe-kick, shelf and display lighting with hidden drivers and wiring.

⚡Vanity and bathroom lighting

Vanity bars, sconces and lighted mirrors in damp-rated fixtures, wired to code and placed for even, flattering light.

⚡Sconces and accent lighting

Wall sconces for hallways, stairs, bedrooms and living rooms, and picture and accent lights for art and built-ins.

⚡Fixture replacements and repairs

Swapping dated fixtures, replacing failed sockets and drivers, and converting old fixtures to LED.

Good reasons to upgrade your lighting

A lighting upgrade makes sense when:

  • Fixtures are dated or do not match your style
  • A room feels dim or has shadows where you work
  • You are replacing a chandelier or pendant
  • A fixture is heavy or the ceiling is very high
  • Kitchen counters need task lighting
  • Bathroom lighting casts shadows on your face
  • Old fixtures flicker, buzz or burn out bulbs quickly
  • You want dimming or smart control

Why a professional install matters for fixtures

A large chandelier can weigh far more than a standard ceiling box is designed to hold, and a fixture that is not supported properly can loosen or fall. Pendants and linear fixtures look wrong if they are not centered and level, and LED fixtures paired with the wrong dimmer flicker and buzz. A licensed electrician checks the box rating and structure, adds support, gets the details right and wires everything safely.

How we install your lighting

Plan placement and height

We confirm centering over islands and tables, chandelier height for the room and table, and clearance on stairs and walkways.

Support the fixture

We verify the electrical box is rated for the fixture's weight and add a fixture-rated box or bracing to the framing when needed.

Wire and control

We wire to code, add or replace switches, and pair fixtures with compatible LED dimmers or smart switches.

Level, test and clean

We assemble, level and adjust the fixture, test it and the dimming, and clean up packaging and debris.

Fixture installation options

Like-for-like swap

Replace an existing fixture on a sound, properly rated box.

Heavy fixture with new support

Install a chandelier or large fixture with a new rated box or bracing.

New fixture location

Add a fixture where none exists, with new wiring and a switch.

Lighting refresh

Replace several fixtures and add dimmers or smart controls in one visit.

Hanging heights that look right

Common guidelines: in a dining room, the bottom of a chandelier is often about 30 to 36 inches above the table. Pendants over a kitchen island typically hang so the bottoms are roughly 30 to 36 inches above the counter, spaced evenly along the island. In an entry or room where people walk underneath, leave at least 7 feet of clearance, more in a two-story foyer.

These are starting points; ceiling height, fixture size and your sightlines matter too. We will hold the fixture at the proposed height before finalizing, so you can see it in the room.

Layering light in a room

The best-lit rooms use layers: ambient light for general illumination, often recessed lighting; task light where you work, such as under-cabinet LEDs and vanity lights; and accent or decorative light from chandeliers, pendants and sconces. Each layer on its own switch or dimmer lets the room shift from bright and practical to soft and relaxed.

We can plan a full lighting refresh with you, combining new fixtures with recessed lighting and smart controls so everything works together.

LED fixtures and dimming

Many new fixtures have integrated LEDs, which last for many years but require compatible dimmers. Check whether a fixture is dimmable and which dimmer types it supports before buying. Pairing the right dimmer prevents flicker, buzz and limited dimming range.

We confirm compatibility before installation and replace older dimmers as part of the job, so every new fixture dims smoothly.

What affects the cost of lighting installation

The main factors are the number and type of fixtures, fixture weight and assembly complexity, ceiling height and whether a lift or tall ladder is needed, whether the box must be replaced or braced, new wiring or switch locations, and dimmer or smart control choices. We provide a free estimate and an upfront price.

Indoor Lighting & Fixture Installation across Orange County

Lighting installation is some of our favorite work, and you can see it throughout our project gallery: crystal chandeliers under wood beams, linear fixtures over dining tables and pendants over kitchen islands. In Newport Beach, Coto de Caza and Laguna Niguel, homes with high and vaulted ceilings call for large chandeliers and careful support. In Irvine, Ladera Ranch and Laguna Beach, kitchen and living room refreshes often combine pendants, under-cabinet lighting and new recessed lighting.

Customers in Foothill Ranch have had us take down an old chandelier and replace it with one that is easier to maintain, and in Ladera Ranch we have changed out living room and bathroom lighting. Whether it is one fixture or a whole house, we treat each installation with care.
